I had my first laptop yesterday amp it seems to work just as well whether its on my lap or not, Is this normal?

This is a common misunderstanding, laptop os an acronym for Little And Pricey, Tables Or Pants, meaning it may be small and expensive but you can put it on your pants trousers or a table. I hope this helps
